This Simple Exercise Does a World of Good

Remaining indoors when possible and practicing social distancing remain fundamental toward reducing the spread of COVID-19. However, some fresh air and natural vitamin D courtesy of the sunshine can do the body good. With most if not all fitness centers remaining closed, one of the easiest exercises you can do is one that you may already do every day.

That’s right, we’re talking about walking. This activity does not require any type of special equipment or a gym membership for that matter. If you’re not the active type, it’s a great low impact exercise which, despite seeming so simple, can potentially do a world of good for the body including lowering blood pressure, assisting with the management of type 2 diabetes, boosting mood, lowering the levels of bad cholesterol, and reducing stress.

While walking is a simple yet effective exercise, don’t forget about the importance of making sure that you are maintaining the minimum six-foot distance from others and that you are practicing all safety precautions, such as thoroughly washing your hands after being outside.
